Kathryn J. Spivey, 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Robinson, Texas, on Monday, March 30, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. A Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.
Kathryn was born to the late Dee and Eleanor Nunn Humphries Malin. She attended Waco Tech up to the 10th grade. She retired from Owen-Illinois Glass Plant after working 48 years. She married Howard Spivey on October 1, 1961. They were married for 47 years. Kathryn loved watching her grandchildren play sports and she loved going to casinos with her family. She loved planting flowers in her yard and playing with her dogs.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her father, Dee Humphries; her mother, Eleanor Humphries; her brother, Sonny Humphries, and her loving husband, Howard Spivey.
Kathryn is survived by her daughters, Deborah Griffin and spouse Mike, of Robinson, and Kellie Spivey and spouse Melissa of North Richland Hills; sons, Steve Spivey and spouse Stephanie of Woodway, Ronald Yepma and Michael Yepma; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel Trent and husband, Jim Trent of Mexia; and several loving nieces and nephews.
The family wants to thank Visiting Angels and Providence Hospice for the great care you gave to her.
