Kathryn Sue Gowdy

Kathryn (Kathy) Sue Gowdy, 75, of Waco, TX, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024 after a lengthy illness. A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, at Chilton Cemetery, CR 1643, Chilton, TX, with Pastor David Cozart officiating. Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m., Monday, December 2, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, TX.

Kathy was born April 19, 1949, in El Paso, TX, to Robert Lee and Della Mae Latham. She married her high school sweetheart and forever love, David Warren Gowdy, and shared the best years of their lives together. On May 18, 1971, they received their most precious gift of all. Their daughter Sherry Lynn Gowdy came into this world.

Kathy was not only a devoted wife, a loving mom, but she was a cherished sister, that will be forever missed. 

She is survived by her beautiful daughter, Sherry Lynn Lewis and husband, Jimmy of Dalhart, TX; two sisters, Bobbie Cheryl Stone and Randy Stone of Leander, TX, and Vickie Lynn Uzzel and Kenneth Uzzel of Waco, TX; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who were all just like sisters to each other. 

There are no words to express how grateful and blessed we all were to have her in our lives. She will be forever missed.
