June DeLeon, born Elizabeth June Gibson on November 28, 1954 to her parents, Ruben and Vila Mae Gibson, in Waco, Texas, passed away on July 5, 2024, in Waco. She was a devoted Manager at Family Dollar who touched the lives of many.
June was known for her kind heart and generous spirit. She never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her attitude and positivity were contagious, and she never spoke ill of others.
One of June's greatest joys in life was her family. She cherished her role as a wife to Manuel DeLeon and as a mother to Jennifer Evartt (Jason), April Colby, Courtney Bury (Chas), Anthony DeLeon (Laura), and Joshua DeLeon (Jeannie). Her sister Vivian Neal; her beloved Fur Son, Chico; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
June had a passion for music and gardening. She loved playing the guitar and tending to her beautiful flowerbeds. Her family recalls how she always made sure Chico had his morning coffee - a small gesture that symbolized how caring she was as a person.
Her proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. June poured her love into each one of them, creating lasting memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Vila Mae Gibson.
In remembrance of June's life, a Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on July 10, 2024, at Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Moody. Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of this remarkable woman who left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
