Julio Contreras

Julio Rodriguez Contreras, 86, passed away December 20, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be 5 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 26, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco. Rosary will be recited at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2621 Bagby Ave., Waco, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon, with Father Benjie officiating.
Julio was born in La Palma Pegada, Salinas de Hidalgo SLP, Mexico, where he was a farmer for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Julio is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elva Almendarez Contreras; daughters, Antonia Lopez and husband Salvador, Esmeralda Palacios and husband Sergio, and Raquel Coronado; sons, Leonel Contreras and wife Irma, Manuel Contreras and wife Juanis, Jaime Conteras and wife Juana, Abel Contreras and wife Isabel; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren which he adored.
