Joseph Rosa

Joseph Lee “Jody” De La Rosa, 44, of Waco, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Tuesday, February 24 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr. in Waco with burial to follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, February 23 from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Jody was born October 21, 1970 in Waco to Joseph Lee and Bertha La Jean (Harvey) De La Rosa. He graduated from University High School and entered into law enforcement. Jody served as an officer for the Falls County Sheriff’s Department. He went on to continue his education in Criminal Justice, graduating from Tarleton State University. Jody worked as a local security guard. He enjoyed fishing and playing pool. Jody was a die hard fan of his Texas teams, never missing the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and the Texas Longhorns play.
Jody was loved dearly by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean and his brothers, Rudy De La Rosa and Larry Collins.
He is survived by his father, Joe De La Rosa; children, Candace Nicole Woycheshin and Dan Lee De La Rosa; sisters, Debra Romero, Charlotte Collins, Tamara Nowlin and husband James, Monika Salinas and husband John and Stella De La Rosa of Houston; brothers, Bobby Collins, Stephen Mark Collins, Ronald Collins and wife Alice, Edward De La Rosa and Christy, and David De La Rosa and wife Barbara; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jennifer Duarte, Martín De La Rosa, Brandon Romero, Matthew Nowlin, Josh Riojas and Manuel Collins will serve as pallbearers. Freddie Clemons will serve as honorary pallbearer.
