Josefa Rios

Josefa (Perales) Rios, age 52, of Waco, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 27 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, with Pastor Marcial Samaniego officiating. There will be a visitation prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. The family will have a private burial at Rosemound Cemetery.

Josefa was born November 20, 1970 to Jose Angel Perales and Hortencia (Lidia) Medrano Perales in Mexico. She grew up loving God, walking in a strong faith and always a prayer warrior. She was known to be selfless, always helping others. Josefa loved to read her bible, dancing with love in her heart at church with the flags and tambourines. She would call into the radio station to request prayers for her friends. Josefa enjoyed gardening, singing at church or at home with her beautiful voice, joking around, making people laugh and spending time with her granddaughter. She had a love for fashion and was always looking her best.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fidel Rios, Sr.

Josefa is survived by her mother, Lidia Perales; children, Ariana Williams, Briana Garcia Rios, Bryan Garcia Rios, Zefezuriel Garcia Rios; granddaughter, Bella Neriah Grace Williams; brothers, Pedro Rankin, Antonio Aguilar, Manuel Rios, Fidel Rios, Jr.; sisters, Irene Vidal, Maria Lopez, Lucia Maria de la Luz Valdez, Martha Rios, Herlinda Castillo; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
