Jose Salas

Jose Manuel Salas Barrientos, age 51, of Chilton, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024 in Waco. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 8 at Mooreville Cemetery in Falls County. There will be a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 7 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco. There will be the reciting of Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Jose was born November 23, 1972 to Florenco and Simona (Barrientos) Salas in Santa Rita Zacatecas, Mexico. He was a hard worker and good provider for his family. He loved being with his family and bringing the kids together. His daughter, Jenny was his pride and joy. Jose liked drinking and having a good time, cooking out and making chicharrónes. He looked forward to and waited for his kids to get home every night. Most of all, he was very proud of his mustache.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sophia Salas; brother, Pancho Salas.

Jose is survived by his wife, Maria Rodriquez; sons, Jaime Salas and wife Kasandra Estroga, Daniel Salas and wife Johana Salas-Flores, Ezequiel Salas, Leonel Salas, Ricardo Salas, Angel Salas, Imanol Salas; and daughter, Jennifer Salas; grandchildren, Mireya, Kalani, and Nathaniel Salas; brothers, Clemente Salas, Nicandro Salas, Saulo Salas, Moises Salas; sisters, Veronica Gonzales, Victorina Saucedo, Maria Ortega; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
