Jordan M. Beckham, 77, of Waco, passed away unexpectedly on November 7, 2015, surrounded by his children. A memorial service is scheduled for 10 am Wednesday, November 11 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.
Jordan was born on February 27, 1938 in Commerce, Texas to E.R. Beckham and Blanche Allison Beckham. He graduated from Texas Wesleyan University in 1960 and began teaching history, speech and debate at Meadowbrook Jr. High in Fort Worth. While living in Fort Worth, he met and married Maxine McClure in 1966. He then began a career with the Department of Veterans Affairs that would take them to Tuskegee, AL, Roseburg, OR, Beckley, WV and then finally back to Waco in 1974 as the Personnel Director of the Veterans Administration Regional Office where he worked until retirement in 1997.
Jordan loved spending time with his two children, Alice and Ashley, and even more time with his three grandchildren Jessica, Shea and Seth; who were the light of his life. He also loved spending time with his friends at their lunch outings and monthly domino playing parties. He was a great father, grandfather and friend who touched many lives.
Jordan was preceded in death by his parents, E.R. and Blanche Beckham. He is survived by daughter, Alice Beckham Davis and husband Gary of Waco; son Ashley Edward Beckham and wife Renee of Wylie; and grandchildren Jessica Johnson, Shea and Seth Beckham.
A special thank you to Jimmy Shepherd, Michael Romano and Ron Koester for their many years of help.
