Johnny Wayne Davis, 75, of Robinson, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, October 17th at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., with Michael Razzo officiating. Interment will be at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, at 2:00 PM the same day.
Johnny was born April 13, 1944 to L.T. and Cleo (Haynes) Davis in Waco, Texas. He graduated from University High School in 1962. After high school Johnny joined the Navy serving in Vietnam for four years, spending countless days on submarines. When he was discharged from the Navy he met Lillian Engelke, they married in July of 1968. He was then reunited with his two children, Angela and Johnny Davis. Lillian and Johnny got them back at Christmas of 1974 to later adopt them. Johnny loved hunting, fishing, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He owned Davis Service Station for 31 years in Waco. He also spent a lot of time watching baseball. He enjoyed going to Corpus Christi every year to fish. Johnny coached a co-ed softball team named after Davis Texaco. He found joy in helping anybody and everybody that needed it.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.T. and Cleo Davis; two brothers, James Davis and Lewis (Bubba) Davis.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Lillian (Lynn); children, Angela Davis, Johnny Davis and wife Jo; grandchildren, Chris Price and wife Ashley, Courtney McCormick and husband Chad, Cody Price and wife Sara, Carey Price and husband Colby, Jonathon Davis, Monika Allen and husband Jason, Matthew Davis, Courtney Wood, Tyler Davis; great-grandchildren, Kaelyn, Kennidi, Faith, Hope, Zaidon, Hagen, Marleigh, Piper, Avery, Brooklin, and Brinlee; sister, Judy Patillo and husband Dale; several nieces and nephews; and a ton of friends.
