John Waters

John Edwin Waters, Jr., 78, of Woodway, passed away Friday, April 2, 2021 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 8, at Robinson Cemetery, 620 E. Stegall Road, Robinson, TX.

John was born April 7, 1942, in Stony Brook, NY, to John and Agatha Waters. He graduated from Port Jefferson High School in New York and earned a B.A. degree in business at the University of Nebraska. John proudly served in the United States Army and earned the rank of Captain. He served two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded numerous medals including the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross. John married Patti Hightower April 9, 1966 in Cameron, TX. He worked for RPM, Storall and later owned Bailey Personnel in Waco, TX. He enjoyed spending time with his family and the family’s yearly trips to Galveston. John was known as “Pops” to his grandchildren and many others that knew him. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

John was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Koble; and brother, Peter Waters.
He life legacy will forever be remembered by his wife of 55 years, Patti Waters; daughter, Rebecca Hutchinson and husband John; daughter Suzanna Witt and husband Tracy; grandchildren, Jake, Gage and Peyton Hutchison; Tyler, Tanner and wife Kyndel, and Lindsey Witt; brother, Bob Waters, and sister, Jane Gould.
