John Sharp

January 16, 1938 — July 24, 2022

John was born in Waco to George and Gail Sharp on January 16, 1938 and went to meet his Savior on July 24, 2022, he was 84 years old. John was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 42 years, Ginger Sharp, his parents George and Gail Sharp, a brother Larry Sharp, and a sister Minnie Mae Whyburn. John obtained a degree and teaching certificate from Texas A&M University and taught Automotive Technology at Robinson High School for a number of years. He then transitioned into residential and commercial construction and sales from which he retired over a decade ago to enjoy the most important things in life. The three loves of John’s life were his wife Ginger; his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; and fishing in Lake Waco and the Brazos River.
John is survived by daughters Roxann Lewallen and husband Greg, Rhonda Sharp, Donya Jacks and husband Phil; and by sons Cyle Sharp and wife Sharla, Bryan Birkes and wife Kali, Daniel Ross and wife Brenda, Darryl Ross and wife Becky, David Ross and companion Cheryl Jaster; sisters, Erma Polk; Louise Black and husband Jack; along with his brother, Jimmy Sharp and wife Mary.
John is also survived by grandchildren; Josh Lewallen, Leska Lewallen and partner Brittany Barker, Jett Sharp and wife Seasons, Belynn Burruel and husband Coy, Dallas Alves, Lesley Hay and husband Justin, Ashley Ash and husband, Coleman, Allie Gillaspy and husband Joe, Keith Birkes, Cory Gouldman and wife Elizabeth, Amber Hord, Allyson Huntley and husband Erick, Bentley Freed and husband David, Haley Jo Ross, and Evan Ross.
John is further survived by great grandchildren; Kayce Lewallen, Lily Lewallen, Austin Lewallen, Lucy Sharp, Jasper Sharp, Joplin Burruel, Indie Burruel, Trey Hay, Louis Hay, Gus Ash, Autumn Chayden, Reagan Gillaspy, Joseph Gillaspy, Tyson Gillaspy, Chloe Jackson, Olivia Gouldman, Jake Freed, extended family members Tammy Youngblood, Keith Youngblood, Brazos Youngblood, Rhyder Youngblood, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to extend a special note of appreciation to Gloria Adkins for her dedicated and loving care of John.
A visitation will take place at Pecan Grove Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 3rd from 6pm to 8pm with a graveside service on Thursday, August 4th in the Rosemound Cemetery Cremation Garden at 10am.
