John Iglecias Morrison, Sr., 62, met Jesus face to face on March 21, 2023. He was born February 9, 1961, to Robert Channon Morrison and Julieta Iglecias Morrison at Edwards Air Force Base, California. They were an Air Force family and lived all over the world during John’s life. After graduating High School in 1980, John enlisted in the United States Army and served his Country for more than 37 years, whether it be Active Duty, Civil Service or Reservist Status.
John was a friend to all, and rarely said No to a request of his time to help others. He always had a smile on his face, and genuinely loved helping people. He had a special way with babies and children, and demonstrated the love of Jesus to everyone he was around. John loved to work on cars and anything mechanical, so much so that he was always “going to fix” anything that wasn’t running. John loved life and made the most of every situation. His life was a witness to the Christian walk he chose as a young child.
John and Patti became friends in 2005 and after two years of dating, they married in 2009 and shared over 13 years together, making the blended family dynamic look easy. He was a devoted husband, father, and PaPa. He made each person in his life feel special.
John was preceded in death by his oldest son Michael Morrison.
He is survived by his parents, siblings Olivia Bravo, Judy Morrison, George (Carolyn) Morrison, James (Linda) Morrison and Margaret (Roy) Ramirez. He is also survived by children Rachel (Jimmy) Perez, Andrew (Cara) Stevens, John (Mallory) Morrison, Abigail (Skylar) Tate and Izabel Morrison, as well as nine grandchildren, John, Rozlyn and Michael Perez, Kevyn, Ayden and Peyton Stevens, Piper and Trey Morrison, and Harper Tate.
The family will receive visitors at Pecan Grove Funeral Home on Friday, March 31st from 6:00-8:00 p.m. His Celebration of Life service will be held at Renew Church on Saturday, April 1st at 10:00 a.m. followed by a graveside burial service at Lorena Cemetery.
