John Nance Garner, Jr., affectionately known as “Bobo” passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2015 after a lifelong battle with diabetes at age 56. His loving family was by his side.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth Callahan Garner, sister, Sherrie Garner Goodman and her husband, Rey Theriault, daughter, Blaize McClendon and her husband Garrett, two granddaughters, Capri and Piper McClendon, and nieces, Lexi Goodman and Candace Nicole Garner, as well as his great nieces Hailee and Adalynn. He was preceded in death by his father, John Garner, Sr. and younger brother, Randall Wayne Garner.
John was always the life of the party and was well-known in Waco. He leaves behind many friends who he loved dearly. A true outdoorsman he was an avid hunter and loved to fish. He was also a skilled craftsman who enjoyed working with his hands and spent many hours designing custom jewelry and knives.
Known as an affectionate father to his daughter, Blaize, and for his quick wit, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation and viewing will be held at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 N Robinson Dr, Waco, on Monday, August 31 from 6 to 8pm. The family will be there to greet friends and celebrate John’s life.
