Johnny Brackeen, of Waco, was welcomed into eternal peace and joy on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the age of 75. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., Monday, September 26, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive visitors 2 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 25, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive.
Johnny was born on January 16, 1941, in Paris, TX, to George and Monia Lee Brackeen. He graduated from University High School. Johnny served in the US Army Reserves. He married Linda K. Haddock Nov. 27, 1957; they were married for 58 years. Johnny worked for Piggly Wiggly food stores for 30 years and then worked for convenience stores for 20 years.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; and half-brother, George Brackeen.
Johnny is survived by his wife Linda K.; son, Clint and wife Kathlyn; half-son Ryan; sisters, Frances Greene, and Audrey Grimes and husband Rusty, and Sherry Dunn and husband Tommy; brother, Robert Brackeen and wife Tina; one grand-child, Katie Brackeen and fiancé Jonny Miller; three granddaughters, Tori and Taylor Brackeen and Jordyn Lockhart; one grandson, Jake Lockhart; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Brenda Lee; and wheelman Kevin Sydow.
