JoAnn Smith

JoAnn Smith, 78, of Eddy, passed away July 15, 2014. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at Mooreville Cemetery in Mooreville. Rev. Lynn Starnes officiating. The family will receive visitors, Friday, July 18, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive in Waco.
JoAnn was born July 21, 1935, in Eddy, to John B. Davis and Winnie Lee Davis.
She married Lawrence Smith in 1958. JoAnn taught school for 25 years in Chapman Ranch schools near Corpus Christi, Chilton Elementary, and Marlin Elementary. JoAnn played piano for many years at Mooreville United Methodist Church. She loved to read, listen to music, and she had a strong faith. She took great pleasure in her grandchildren.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 2000.
JoAnn is survived by her daughter, Cathy Lynn Byrd and husband Rick, of Eddy; sons, Joseph Carroll Smith and wife Sherry, of Eddy, and Monty Jarrod Smith of Arkansas; brother Robert L. Davis and wife Shirley, of Wimberley; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Erik Flores, Jake Smith, John Smith, Dustin Smith, and Josh Smith.
