Jewel Blanche Tenberg Kelly
March 9, 1944 – October 4, 2015
Jewel Kelly went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 4, 2015, at 1:55 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, October 9, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco. Interment will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 5-7 on Thursday, October 8 at the funeral home.
Jewel was born in Taylor, Texas, on March 9, 1944. As a child, she lived in Kennedy, Texas, with her parents, Bessie Gee Walker Tenberg and Curtis Jewel Tenberg and her six siblings. Jewel attended Waco High School and graduated in 1962. She married Dwayne Odell Kelly in 1963, and lived in Garland, Texas, for many of the 41 years she was married to Dwayne.
Jewel worked as a computer programmer at Lone Star Gas Company for 23 years. She will be remember as a loving mother and for her love of life, generosity, and for her favorite saying “I dance to the beat of my angel’s wings”. May she rest in peace and join others that have gone before her and celebrate a new life in heaven.
Jewel is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Bessie Tenberg, husband, Dwayne Kelly; brother, Curtis “Buddy” Tenberg; and sister, June Tenberg.
She is survived by their three children, Cary Kelly and fianceé Sundee, Renee Kelly Young and husband Phil, and Aaron Kelly and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Rory Kelly and wife Jamie, Reece Kelly, Annesly Young, Riley Young, siblings; brother, David Tenberg and wife Gaylan; sisters, Darla Tenberg Bunch, Betty Tenberg McClain and husband Larry, Carrol Hopkins and husband Paul, sister-in-law, Anne Tenberg.
In lieu of flowers, family wishes donations be made to the Salvation Army Angel Tree.
