Jesus (Jesse) Perez, Jr., 72, of Robinson, went to be with our Lord on October 28, 2021. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 6 to 8 P.M., with Rosary at 7 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 P.M. Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1724 S. 29th St., Waco with The Very Reverend Father Benjamin Magnaye as Celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S. 5th St., Waco.
Jesse Perez was born on December 10, 1948 in Rosebud, Texas. He worked for Pledger Construction for 30 years as a supervisor before retiring. After retiring, he loved to watch westerns and his favorite football team, the Redskins, while drinking a few cold ones. When he wasn’t watching t.v. he would be outside doing yard work and he loved to have barbeques with his family. He served in the Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War with honorable discharge as a two time Purple Heart recipient.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Epifania Saucedo Ruiz and Jesus Perez, Sr. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Alfredo Perez, Sr. and his oldest daughter, Delores Perez.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rosie Perez; two sons, Jesse Perez III and wife, Tracy Shilling-Perez, Frank Perez; one daughter, Terri Perez and husband, Arthur Martinez; sisters, Mary and husband, Cipiano Enriquez, Adelaide and husband, Ubaldo Zapata, Sylvia and husband, Jack Vancunett, Fay and husband Victor Lopez, and Alice Spence; brother, Trini and wife, Tina Perez; as well as nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Richard Zapata, Gabe Lopez, Mike Zapata, Arthur Martinez, Sr., Amado Delapaz, Arthur Lopez, Victor Lopez and Ruben Resendez. Honorary pallbearers are Rey Martinez, Augustine Perez, Jesse James Perez, Justin Cordero, Jr., and Adelaide (Addie) Mattox.
