Jesse Moore

April 13, 1937 — December 20, 2016

Jesse Lee Moore, 79, of Lorena, passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday, December 20, 2016, surrounded by his family. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, Dec. 23, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum, with Rev. Brad Brittain officiating. Entombment will follow the service. The family will receive visitors 6 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 22, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.
Jesse was born April 13, 1937, in Rosebud, TX, to Jesse A. and Lena Franz Moore. After graduating from high school, he joined the National Guard. Jesse worked in the home building supply industry for many years until his retirement. While working in New Mexico, he met the love of his life, Carolyn Sue Bensing. They moved to Harker Heights and built their first house together, where they welcomed their children, Nancy and Jesse Warren. Jesse loved sports, fishing, gardening and woodworking. He was very passionate about his many years in the Harker Heights Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as President. Jesse was very proud of his children and their sports and life accomplishments; he was a board member of Southern Little League in Waco, and was a recipient of the Jimmy Roach Memorial Award.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse A. and Lena Rose Franz Moore; brother, Edward Moore and his wife Rose; step-mother, Ola Trojan Moore; father and mother-in-law, Everett and Ruby Bensing; and brother-in-law, Ricky Green.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Sue Moore; his daughter Nancy Muhlman and husband Pat; son, Jesse W. “Scooter” Moore and wife Cathy; grandchildren, Amanda Foster and husband Jackie, Natasha Moore, Ryan Muhlman, and Caitlyn Moore; great-grandchildren, Bryson and Lathan Foster; sister-in-law, Rhonda Green; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, loving family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Warren Moore, Ryan Muhlman, Pat Muhlman, Jackie Foster, David Moore, and Wade Green.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jesse’s name to Lorena Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box, 474, Lorena, TX, 76655.
