"Jerry" Gerald Wilson

March 26, 1942 — March 4, 2017

Gerald Dean (Jerry) Wilson, 74, of Robinson, Texas passed away Saturday March 4th 2017. The funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 10:00 am at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, 1207 N Old Robinson Rd, Waco, TX with burial to follow at Rosemond Cemetery. Officiating the service will be his nephew, Dr. Chris Thacker of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Alexandria Louisiana and Dr. Cary Killough. Visitation will be held on 5-7pm Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr.
Jerry was born in Dallas, Texas on March 26, 1942 to Nellie Inez Creech and Alvis Linden Wilson. He attended Rylie High School in Dallas, Texas. Jerry was married to Judy Dalton Wilson on February 5, 1965 and remained married for 52 years. They had three children: Kelly Wilson (wife-Jennifer) of Mexia, TX, Shelly Wilson Barnett (husband Chris) of Robinson, TX, Kyle Wilson (wife Mary-Michele) of Houston, TX.
Jerry worked in the HVAC trade in multiple levels of the trade from installer, project manager, designer, and shop foreman. He mastered CNC programming with no formal computer experience and later mastered AutoCAD. He once sold barber supplies but opted to keep his cap on at all times. He was a member of Sheet Metal Union #25.
He was a faithful member of Newman Park Baptist Church of Dallas, Calvary Baptist Church, Mesquite and member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church of Robinson for the last 30 years. He loved his role at Meadowbrook where he headed up the Honey Do Crew.
He loved to play and watch baseball and softball and he loved to hunt and fish. He was a big fan of the Robinson Rockets football where one son and two grandsons played as well as the Little League programs. He also loved to watch his granddaughters play volleyball.
He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather Jack May, brother, Dewey T. (Sonny) Wilson, sisters; Shirley Ann Wilson King Kendrick, Patsy Nell Wilson Shockley, nephews; Kevin Shockley and Chad Kendrick, brothers-in-law; Richard King, Harvey Shockley, Pete Kendrick.
Survived by his wife Judy, children, sister-in-law Hilda Wilson, brother –in-law Austin Thacker and sister-in-law Sarah Thacker, Rhonda Wilson (Hunter’s mother). Also beloved grandchildren: Hunter Wilson, Connor Barnett, Avery Barnett, Sarah Barnett, Rylee Wilson, Kade Wilson, Lily Wilson, Grey Wilson: step-grandchildren Bobby Pelton, Ashleigh Pelton and one step- great grandchild, Claire Reign Pelton.
He also valued and remembered many, many friends and co-workers over the years.
