Jeanette “Babe” Albers of Woodway passed away Monday morning Nov. 6, 2017 at the age of 83. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 9 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home Chapel, 3124 Robinson Drive with Rev. Scott Spence officiating. Interment will be in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas. Visitation will be 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home.
Mrs. Albers was born April 3, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lock where she attended school. On March 3, 1950, she married Donald Harry Albers in Pochahontas, Arkansas.
Much of her life was spent in the printing business. For eight years, she was employed by Petmilk in St. Louis, Missouri as an administrative assistant. After Donald was transferred to Waco, she began her employment with Hill Printing as a press operator for eight years prior to her 1974 retirement. During her life, Jeanette enjoyed many things. One being dancing. She enjoyed dancing the jitterbug at the Casalona Ballroom in St. Louis and later at Geneva Hall in Waco. She enjoyed knitting and cooking. An active member of St. John United Church of Christ as long as her health permitted, she was a member of the Women’s Guild and helped serve meals at the church.
Preceding her in death were her parents and step-brother, Art Zeis.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-seven years, Donald Albers; a daughter, Connie Ringer; a granddaughter, Mandy Bonora; great grandchildren, Matthew, Tiffany, Sarah, Faith and Aubrey.
