The family will receive visitors from 6-8 pm Thursday August 23, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date with family at Beggs cemetery in Beggs, Oklahoma.
Jason was born February 17, 1984 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, son of Kathy and Les Hicks and Jimmy Hickman. On July 16, 2011, he was united in marriage to Jessica Beck in Mart, Texas. To this union two children were born, Alliey Leigh, age 8 and Jason Rhett, age 5.
Jason was born fearless. Nothing could stop him. Once his mind was made up he was going to figure out how to make it happen. He was a tough man with a gentle soul and huge heart. He was such a proud father, the best father his kids could ask for. His big tough attitude softened up the first time he held his daughter and again when he held his son. He could be a bit stubborn and loved to argue to prove his point. He was one of the hardest workers around and was a mentor to many fellow coworkers. He was a “fixer.” He might have added a bit of redneck ingenuity to it, but he would call it fixed. He was true to his word and everyone around him knew they could always count on Jason’s word.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth Cook, Louise Tooley, Ed Hickman, Irene Howard, and Charles and Lucille Hicks; father-in-law, Thomas Beck, uncles Daniel Walkingstick, Sr, Ricard Hicks and Roger Hickman; Aunt, Tonya Hicks; and cousins, Daniel “Brother” Walkingstick, Jr. and Michael Jordan.
Survivors include wife, Jessica, and their two children of the home; parents Kathy and Les Hicks of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Jimmy Hickman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother Cary Hicks and girlfriend Lena of Loveland, Colorado; brother Robert Dale Hickman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister, Jami Shepard of Glenpool, Oklahoma, sister Marsha (Hickman) Heath of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and sister Theresa (Hickman) Ross of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; special friend Mandee Sabreena Dixon and her children Kelcee, Clayton and Coy; aunt Lorrine Hickman of Beggs, Oklahoma, as well as a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jason is also survived by many friends he considered his “Road Family.”
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
