Jason Eugene Claridy

Jason Eugene Claridy, 46, of Gatesville passed away on November 12, 2024, surrounded by his family. Jason was born to Peggy Smith and Howard “Gene” Claridy in Waco, Texas on January 23, 1978. He grew up in Hewitt and enjoyed spending most of his time on the lake. 

Jason had a contagious laugh, was the life of every party, and his best days were spent camping at the lake, fishing, hunting, and spending time hanging out with his friends and family. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, relaxing on a patio with a cold beer and listening to country music- something he greatly enjoyed doing with his family. We’d be remiss to not mention that he also loved a good fight, especially with his sister and sidekick, Amber. 

He was also a skilled electrician and enjoyed fixing things and helping out when he could. 

Jason is survived by his grandmother, Wanda Claridy, of Waco; son, Colton Claridy, of Hewitt; sisters, Amber Hall, of McGregor, and Robyn Claridy-Miga, of Austin; nieces, Alyssa Hall, of Temple, Ashlynn Hall, of McGregor; nephew Eric Miga, of Austin; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who knew and loved him. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peggy and Howard Fasshauer, whom he missed dearly; father, Howard “Gene” Claridy; brother, Troy Claridy; grandparents Bill and Ruby Smith, Howard and Margie Fasshauer; grandfather, Carrol “Bud” Claridy; and numerous aunts and uncles whom he loved. 

Special thank you to the Baylor Scott & White Intensive Care Unit’s nursing staff who cared for Jason in his last days. 

His family and friends loved Jason very much and he will be missed sorely.
