Janice “Jan” Lynn Simons, 60, of Waco passed away Saturday at her home. Funeral services will be Friday at 1pm at Meadowbrook Baptist Church located at 1207 N. Old Robinson Rd. in Waco, Texas. Rev. Curtis Holland, a close friend of the family, will perform the service. Burial will follow at Billington Cemetery near Axtell, Texas. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 16 from 5-7pm at Pecan Grove Funeral Home located in Robinson, Texas at 3124 Robinson Drive.
She was born November 7, 1957 at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas, to James Lawson and Mary Imogene (Brown) Tucker. She grew up in Billington and in Waco, Texas. She married Randall Simons on December 29, 1995 and they settled in Speegleville, Texas. Jan loved to help people and spent much of her life working in the Radiology department at Providence Hospital in Waco. After retiring, Jan loved being outdoors working in the yard, fishing with Randy, or playing with her two lovable bloodhounds Harley and Jax. She loved to read and shared her love of books with her daughter, Jamee. Above all else, she loved her family. Her grandkids were her greatest love. Her favorite thing to tell Morgan, Maryn, Lawson, Elliot and Hazel was “I love you to the moon and back.”
She is preceded in death by her parents, J.L. and Mary Imogene (Brown) Tucker and her beloved sister Barbara Yarborough Scheler. She is survived by her husband, Randy, her son Billy Kitchens and wife Stephanie, her daughter Jamee Binner and husband Kyle, her step-son Jeffrey Simons and wife Alyse, her brother Jimmy and wife Debbie, her brother Kenneth and wife Glenda, her brother Joe and wife Shelly, her brother David and wife Lori, her lifelong best friend Sue Roberts and grandchildren Morgan, Maryn, Lawson, Elliot and Hazel.
Her beloved nephews Kenny Tucker, Jr., David Tucker, Jr., Jason Tucker, Kyle Tucker, Jeffrey Tucker, Cory Tucker, Jimmy Ray Yarborough and Johnny Ray Yarborough will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fuzzy Friends Animal Rescue in Waco, Texas.
