James Davis (J.D.) Williams, 76, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2016, in Lorena, Texas, surrounded by his loved ones. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco. Memorial service will be held Friday, May 27, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, with burial following at Waco Memorial Park.
J.D. was born August 8, 1939, in Franklin County, Alabama to Mary Sue and Silas Burley Williams. He served in the U.S. Army and was assigned to Ft Hood. He made Waco his permanent home after discharge from the military. He worked many years for Marathon Battery and later for Paragon, where he retired. J.D. loved life and spending time with his family. He was also an avid motorcyclist, riding with his wife and family members across the country and Canada.
He is survived by daughters, Debbie Combs of Lorena, Texas, and Rhonda Owens of Hewitt, Texas. He is also survived by stepsons Bruce and wife Laura Duncan of Hewitt, Texas; Mark and wife Cindy Duncan of Hewitt, Texas; Thomas and wife Mary Duncan of Bellmead, Texas, and stepdaughter Barbara and husband Jimmy Watkins of Robinson, Texas., nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren; two brothers, John Robert and wife Jane Williams of Red Bay, Alabama, and Joe Pat and wife Evelyn Williams, of Florence, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Doris Densman.
