James Earl Threlkeld was reunited with his three sons and grandson and our Lord on August 27, 2016. His life began on November 27, 1929 born to loving parents Albertina Schultz-Threlkeld & Earl George Threlkeld in Waco, TX. He was a graduate of Waco Technical High School, after which he served an apprenticeship for Katy Railroad & was an electrician in the Navy. He married the love of his life Estherlene Rogas in 1950 & raised three children together Brenda, Michael, & Bryant. He was an avid fisherman, loving husband, caring father, & attentive grandfather all while attaining the prestigious title of Master Mason. James was a dedicated employee of General Tire for 31 years, as well as the Fire Chief for 5 years for the Robinson Volunteer Firefighters in which he volunteered for 27 years. A man of many talents he was also the go to machinist for the Baylor University Engineering department for over 8 years.
His life will be honored Saturday, September 3rd at Pecan Grove Funeral Home at 1pm followed by a reception for friends, family, & loved ones at the Robinson Volunteer Fire Department. James is survived by his wife of 65 years Estherlene; daughter, Brenda O’Leary; sisters, Elvenia & Erline Groth; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and countless friends. In lieu of flowers family asks that you make a donation to the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children or to the Robinson Volunteer Fire Department.
