James E. Powell, 78, passed away April 17, 2014 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sat, Apr. 19 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with burial following at Riesel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 on Friday, April 18 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Dr.
James was born on Jan.8 1936 to Paul and Dessie Powell in Baileyville TX. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a Mason and a member of the Country Worship Cowboy Church in Durango, TX. James is survived by two daughters, Susan Ludwig and husband Ronnie, Terri Clark and Eric Swanson; one son Steve Powell and wife Rhonda; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; and “Peanut”.
