James Mimms

James W. Mimms went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at the age of 64. James had a long battle with illnesses including Parkinson’s disease.

James was a beloved husband, son, brother and, in-law. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, Raquel and his church family at Church Under the Bridge in Waco.

He was preceded in death by his father, J.W. Mimms of Glen Rose, TX and his mother, Dorothy Preston of Gholson, TX.

James is survived in death by his beloved wife, Raquel (Rodriguez) Mimms and his brother, Kenneth Mimms (Sonya). James is further survived by a large family including sisters-in-law, Martha Ibarra (Jose), Ofelia Rodriguez, Lidia Friederick (Dave), Eunice Rodriguez, Grace Sodawasser (Gary); and brothers-in-law, Mario Rodriguez (Victoria), Victor Rodriguez, and Steven Rodriguez; along with numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, whom he loved very much.

There will be a visitation for James at Pecan Grove Funeral home on Saturday, April 23 from 2 PM - 4 PM. A Memorial Service at Church Under the Bridge will be held in his honor, on May 1 immediately following Sunday Service (11:45 AM).
