James Kirk Petty, after a short illness went to be with the Lord Monday, October 3, 2022. Private service will be held with interment next to his beloved mother and father at Robinson Cemetery, Robinson, Texas.
Kirk was born in Irving, TX and was raised in China Spring, graduating from China Spring High School in 1981 and later receiving his bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University. Kirk held a variety of titles in his lifetime including theater performer (Tevye at Waco Civic Theater ages ago), singer, disc jockey, youth minister, Zig Ziglar motivational trainer, salesman, airplane pilot, banker, FAA drone pilot, volunteer public service officer, photographer, chef, and business owner. His beautiful singing voice was a source of pride for his parents and friends. Kirk’s jovial personality will be missed by those who knew him.
Kirk is preceded in death by his adoring parents James M. and Doris L. Alexander Petty, step-brother George Mark and wife Paula Jean Petty, step-sister Leta Jane and husband Ezra Chaudoin.
He is survived by his uncle, Stephen H. Alexander, and his cousins Denise Stanfill, Wayne and wife MaryBeth Alexander, and Vicki Gabbert and their children and grandchildren; step-nephews, Edward Petty, John Miller and step-nieces Denise McKoy, Theresa Fernandez, and Rebecca Bilbrey, and their children.
