James Hixson

James Franklin Hixson (Frank) 90 of Waco passed away Friday, August 30, 2013 at a local nursing facility. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Eric Holleyman officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6p-8p Tuesday, September 3, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Drive.
Frank was born June 1, 1923 in Bosqueville, Texas to Bert and Lilly Hixson. Frank was employed at Lone Star Beer and retired after 38 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers B.W. Hixson, Edward Hixson and Louis Hixson; his sisters Lillian Anderson, Dorothy Garrett, Margaret Goains,Annabell Turk, Marie Hixson and grandson Danny Olvera.
He is survived by his wife Mary Hixson; son Billy Hixson and wife Shelia; step daughters Patsy Vela, Rosie Perez and husband Jesse Perez, Mary Monrial ; special niece Frances Fortenberry and nephew Robert Valdez; Frank had 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons Greg Monrial,Chris Arechigo,Frank Perez,Anthony Vela ,Ryan Hixson,and nephew Robert Valdez. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Jimenez,Oscar Jimenez and Marcus Jimenez . The family would like to thank Jo and Glenna of Ridgecrest Nursing Home for taking special care of him for many years.
