James Ewell Brannen 79, of Eddy, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, October 9, 2014. A graveside service will be held 2 pm, Monday, October 13, 2014, at Eddy Cemetery, with Pastor Bubba Strickland officiating. The family will receive visitors, Sunday, October 12, from 2-4 pm, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr.
James was born in Savannah, Georgia and served in the United States Army. While stationed at Fort Hood, Texas James met the woman who became his wife of forty-nine years, Esther.
James is survived by his wife, Esther Ruth Brannen of Eddy; his son, James Emory Brannen and wife, Mary Brannen; his son, Jeffery Ewell Brannen; his son, William Tarpley Brannen; niece, Rita Mone’e Orum-DeLeon; five grandchildren; and like a son, William Virgil Hedger.
