Jack Morris

August 19, 1950 — July 29, 2020

Born in Waco, TX, Jack Morris served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War beginning in 1970. He was assigned to Assault Craft Unit 1 aboard the USS Belgrade. He was honorable discharged in October 1972.
Jack worked in the immediate Waco area for most of his life in the florist business and often competed in regional and state wide design competitions, many of which he won awards for. For many years, he and his wife, Bettye, owned and operated Elegant Accents Flowers and Gifts in Hewitt. When he wasn’t working in a flower shop, he enjoyed fishing for bass, and for many years was an active member in local bass clubs. Anyone who knew Jack knows that he loved music, and played a pretty good lead guitar, bass, and even the drums. Another passion he had was for motorcycles, but not just any motorcycle. He loved Harley-Davidsons and enjoyed owning, riding and even building them. For some time, he was an active member of BACA, Bikers Against Child Abuse.
Due to the Covid-19 situation in Central Texas, Jack will be privately buried at Chapel Hill Cemetery, with a memorial gathering to be announced at a later date.
