Jack Norman Carroll 83, of Waco passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013. A graveside service will be held 2 pm, Monday, March 25, at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Sunday, from 6-8 PM at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Dr.
Jack was born in Killeen, on October 29, 1929 to Leonard and Addis Farmer Carroll. He graduated high school from Bruceville-Eddy. He married the love of his life Peggy Woodard in Lorena, on December 1, 1950.
Jack worked as a machinist at Waco Automotive for over 40 years. In 1992 he started and ran J & R Machines with his good friend, Race Marley, before retiring in 1995. Jack enjoyed baseball, guns, woodworking, and Zane Grey Western Books.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 54 years, Peggy Woodard Carroll; sister Maye Klieber; brothers, Jim Carroll, Boyce “B.C.” Carroll and Wiley Carroll.
He leaves behind his children, daughters, Melissa White and husband Dickie and Leslie Carroll; son, Patrick Carroll and wife ChiYon; grandchildren, Tracey Griffin, Courtney White and Taylor Carroll; great-granddaughters, Lillie Griffin and Phoenix Zimmerhanzel. He is also survived by sisters, Lenora Stafford, Irene Schweigert, Faye Whiteside and Shirley Walker; sisters-in-law, Faye Lanford Carroll and Peggy Hutto Carroll; numerous nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers Gerald and Rex Jenkins, Race Marley, Edward Dvoracek, Danny Dennis and Dickie White.
