Irene Thomas

Irene "Sissy" Thomas, 51, of Waco, passed away at her home Friday, March 15, 2013. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Irene was born Jan. 12, 1962, in Crockett, to Gerald and Joyce Hughes. Irene grew up a small town girl and, in 1981, married Lonnie Thomas. Soon after, they moved to Waco. She was a housewife who enjoyed her family, friends, grandkids, church, playing cards, and going to ballgames. She was known as mom or granny to many others.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Lonnie Thomas; daughter, Niki Lehmann and husband, Josh; grandchildren, Destinie Thomas, Heaven and Dakota Lehmann; brothers, Billy, David, and Kenny Hughes and wife, Crystal; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
