Ida Blanche Throneberry, 83, of Waco, TX, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020, Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 25, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, with Pastor David Cozart officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, at the funeral home.
Ida was born April 5, 1936 in Waco, TX, to John and Mollie Houston Shrum. She worked at the Mexia State School for many years, as well as Methodist Children’s Home and Library Binding, both in Waco. She and her husband, Doyle Throneberry loved to travel, especially going to gamble. In her later years, she continued making trips to Bossier City, and tried to spend as many birthdays as she could playing slots and bingo. Ida was always an animal lover and had many dogs and cats over the years.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mollie Shrum; brothers, John “Butch” Shrum and Billy Jack Shrum; and her sister, Polly Dempsey.
She is survived by her sister, Byrdie Nesbit along with her numerous nieces and nephews.
