Huey Wilburn York, 87, of Waco, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 in Waco. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 19, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 6 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 18, at the funeral home.
Huey was born October 15, 1927, in Groesbeck, TX, to Robert and Myrtle York. He served as a petty officer, 3rd class, in the United States Navy. He married Alicia Yanes in 1991. Huey owned a feed store in Teague, TX, for over 20 years. He also worked as a cattle rancher in Eddy, TX. He was a member of Tomball Masonic Lodge, #1096. Huey loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was greatly loved and will be missed.
Huey was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Myrtle York; a daughter, Jeannie York; sister, Era Evans, and a brother, A.D. York.
Huey is survived by his wife, Alicia York; sons, Jeff York and wife Kim, and Ryan York; stepsons, Jesse Acosta and wife Christie, and John Acosta and Lynnette Boyd; sister, Bobbie Jean Gauntt and husband Kenneth, and grandchildren, Katy, Avery, Ally, Andrew, and Josh.
