We lost the most beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Thursday, November 17, 2016. Howard Earl Thompson, 88, of Waco, was a man who could fix anything and was a jack- of- all trades. He was an amazing man who was loved by all. Graveside services will be 11:30, Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Rosemound Cemetery, with Chaplain Larry Holden officiating. The family will receive 10 – 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.
Howard was born October 2, 1928, in Lake, Mississippi, to John and Madge (Stokes) Thompson. He served our country from 1948 – 1950, in the US Navy. He was employed by the Teamsters for 33 years as a diesel mechanic in California. In 1982, Howard moved to Waco and worked as an automobile air conditioning mechanic.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
Howard is survived by his wife Jean Cantrell Thompson; his children Steven Thompson and wife Tabitha, Tanya Rice and husband Randy, of Tyler, TX, Steven Cantrell and wife Diane, and Joe Cantrell and girlfriend Maria Sanchez; and his beloved Shih Tzu "Sassy"; brothers, C.B. Thompson and wife Anita, Charles Thompson and wife Imogene; sister-in-law Mary Thompson; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to extend a great big thank you to all the Hospice Angels especially Leisel, Vanessa, Pam and Tammy.
We will miss you so much, my darling husband.
