Hollie Gene Gaston was born in Waco, Texas on January 20, 1967. He passed away on January 18, 2023, in his home off Travis St. in Waco, Texas. Celebration of life will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home.
Hollie was born to Gene Gaston and Sandy Toten. He grew up with a love for NASCAR and the thrill of wanting to go “FAST”. He grew up with his siblings Alvin, Barry, and Candy. After attending high school at Waco High, Hollie went on to work construction jobs at different locations. He later found joy in his job as a welder at Packless Industries in 2013. Where he stayed for nine years.
In his spare time, Hollie enjoyed racing his race car at the Heart of Texas Speedway where he made numerous friends and memories. Along with building bicycles, he did other small projects around his home.
He met his wife, Florentina Gonzales in 2000, they were married in 2015. At his passing, they were together for 22 years. Hollie loved his family dearly. He is also survived by his children, Amanda Fields, Joshua Gaston, Kayla Gaston, Jessica Hernandez and husband Daniel, Jennifer Galvan, and Mica Coronado, they were the light of his world. Hollie was also blessed with ten grandchildren, Kallie Burroughs, Kadance Burroughs, Brantley Fields, Emmanuel Garcia Jr., Aliana Garcia, Gabriel Garcia, Marianna Galvan, Adalena Pecina, Madison Pecina, and Aeris Thomas. Hollie is also survived by his brother, Barry Gaston and wife Stephanie; sister, Candy Gaston; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Hollie was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Alvin Gaston.
Hollie ended his days at home among family and was with his loving companion Chico, the “fluffy” chihuahua.
