Herlinda Arias

Herlinda Ann Arias, 32, passed away on September 24, 2021. Prayer service will be at Pecan Grove Funeral Home on October 12, 2021, at 6 P.M. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 10 A.M.
Herlinda was born on September 30, 1988, in Waco, Tx to Pete Arias and Regina Gonzales. She was known as Linda and “Cuddy” to all her friends and family. Herlinda was born with Down Syndrome, and her parents were told that she would not live to be 9 years old. However, here we are 32 years strong, and she would have been 33 years old on September 30, 2021. Unfortunately, she lost her fight to Covid on September 24, 2021. Herlinda was always full of joy and laughter, spreading cheer and love wherever she went. She graduated from A.J. Moore Academy in 2008. She loved music, always singing, dancing, and rapping. She also enjoyed watching movies and television. Some of her favorites included Selena and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Painting and coloring were also one of her favorite things to do. Being with family is what brought her the most happiness. Always giving everyone her big hugs. Herlinda was the life of the party, the sunshine through the rain, the heart of the family.
Herlinda was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Herlinda Carrizales, and Isabel Rivas; maternal grandmother, Catherine Arechiga; great-grandparents, Telesforo and Catherine C. Gonzales, and most recently, her uncle Daniel Frank Arechiga.
She is survived by her parents, Pete Arias and Regina Gonzales; her sister, Pricilla Arias; niece Izaela Sierra, nephew, Kaleb Sierra, and brother, Samuel Arias.
She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who supported her throughout her life.
Special thank you to her aunt Theresa Mata for always being there for her. Also, to her aunt Louisa Nunez for all of her support; and also her Aunt Isabell Pearsall and Uncle Thomas Carrizales. Thank you to all of her family for all of their love and support. She loved everyone very much!
