Herbon Le Blanc

Herbon E. LeBlanc, 95, of Hewitt, Texas transitioned to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 30, 2023. Funeral services will be 9:00 a.m., Friday, December 8, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, with Pastor David Barnes and Rev. Thomas Hale officiating. Entombment will follow at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 6 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 7, at the funeral home.
Herb was born June 26, 1928, in Acadia Parrish, near Rayne, Louisiana to Henry and Aline Bonin LeBlanc and he was the oldest of four children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl, last year, his parents and his three sisters. He is survived by his son, Deryl LeBlanc and wife Joyce and his two granddaughters, Nicole LeBlanc, and Holly LeBlanc.
Herb and Pearl were married on August 10, 1950, in Westwego, LA. He joined the Air Force in December 1951. He was self-employed most of his life having owned a FrostTop Drive-in in Gretna, LA and Herb’s Hardware in Arabi, LA. Herb and Pearl moved to Temple, Texas in 1972 and he began Herb’s Houseworks, building a house and did much remodeling. They then moved to Waco, Texas in 1987 and he continued remodeling and did much work on Abundant New Life church. He was always busy working on something. Papa loved his Lord with all his heart and was faithful to attend church as long as he was physically able.
Many thanks go out to the many med techs and aides of Ridgecrest Assisted Living and St. Anthony’s Care Center. Accent Hospice and Alamo Hospice with Hallie, Tracy, and Candy that took such wonderful care of our Papa. We also want to thank Cindy Stamps for always being there to give us guidance. And a very special thank you to Miranda Tijerina for being an amazing sitter and helping take such great care of Papa. And thank you to Freddi Gray for stepping in when needed. You both are appreciated so much. So thankful for the special memories that Nicole and Holly have had with their Papa that they will always cherish.
