Herbert R. Oliver (Herb), 83 of Waco, passed away Monday, March 28, 2005 at a Waco nursing facility. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco, TX. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Herb was born on January 20, 1922 in Ocee, Texas, to Charles M. Oliver (CM) and Geneva Jewell (King) Oliver. He was a Veteran of the US Airforce, having served in WWII. He worked for his nephews at Oliver Bro's, rebuilding transmissions until he retired at age 62. He loved fishing gardening and shooting his guns.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Coleman and Charles Haney, and his only son Roy Randal Oliver (Randy).
He is survived by his siblings Georgie Robinson of McGregor, Genoa Perry of Waco, TX; Faye Mooney of Waco, TX; Bill Oliver of Caddo Mills, TX; Jim Oliver of Purdon TX. He is also survived by daughters, Wendy Solomon and son-in-law Billy Solomon of Robinson, TX; Anita Grisham and son-in-law Pete Grisham of Corpus Christi, TX; Linda Crawford of Dallas, TX; Yetta Harris and son-in law Jerry Harris of Bellmead, TX; Betty Amason and son-in-law Selby Amason of Waco, TX. And many grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren; as well as other numerous relatives. He will be very missed and will always and forever be remembered.
