Herbert Louis Buck, 83, of Robinson, TX peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 10th, 2024 at his residence. Graveside services will be held at Waco Memorial Park in Robinson, Texas on Thursday, February 15th, at 11:00 am with Rev. Jacob Brenton officiating.
Butch, as he was fondly known, was born on May 20, 1940 to Karl A. and Mary Reuter Buck on the family farm in Robinson, Texas. He attended Robinson schools and graduated from Lorena High School. After graduating high school, he joined the Army and achieved the rank of Sergeant before being discharged. After being honorably discharged on January 29, 1964, he was employed by Owens-Illinois Glass Plant, retiring in 1997. He met Archa Ann Blassingame, whom he fondly called Puddin’. They married on August 29, 1964 and would have celebrated 60 years this coming August.
Butch was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Robinson where he was confirmed at the age of 11.
Butch enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, playing Solitaire and excelled at working crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed being a part of the group of men that drank coffee at Mickey’s in Robinson several times a week. Butch enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his grandsons play baseball and giving out his advice commonly called his “words of wisdom.”
Butch was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Karl Herman Buck, John Buck and Barbara Forcher.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Buck. His children, Deidra Halbert, Stephen Buck and wife, Emily. His grandchildren, Jacob, Kyle, Drew and Alex. His sister, Wanda Wright and numerous nieces and nephews. His adopted cat, KK.
