Helen Dorann Olson Kinsey, 91, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, in Waco, Texas.
Dorann was the beloved wife of Jim Kinsey of Robinson, Texas, with whom she shared 66 wonderful years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to her three sons: Ray Fannin, Dale Fannin, and Ken Kinsey. Her legacy lives on through her seven grandchildren—Heather Johnson, Jamie Helpert, Jason Fannin, Erin Martinez, Stephanie Kinsey, Kristen Fannin, and James (JD) Kinsey—and twelve great-grandchildren: Colton, Kinley, Cason, Aidan, Ellia, Aveyn, River, Nayvie, Hagen, Caleb, Kendall and Julieanna who brought her immense joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles L. Olson Sr. and Sally L. Bush Olson; her brothers Charles L. Olson Jr., William Olson, and Leo Olson; her son Dale Fannin; and her daughter-in-law Doris Fannin.
Dorann lived a full and vibrant life. She retired after many dedicated years with Owens Illinois Glass in Waco. She found joy in sewing and crafting, tending to her yard, and reading. Her love for her family was evident in the countless cherished moments she spent with her children and grandchildren. In her younger days, she delighted in evenings at Lake Waco with her grandchildren, swimming and fishing under the Texas sky. Whenever possible, Dorann and Jim would slip on over to Louisiana for date with Lady Luck. She loved to play the slot machines! A lifelong animal lover, Dorann had a special fondness for dogs. Among her many canine companions over the years, her Yorkies—Tyson, Magic, and Molly—held a particularly dear place in her heart.
Helen’s warmth and love touched all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.
