Harold Glenn Carnes Sr., loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, entered into his eternal home on Sunday, December 30, 2024, at the age of 79. He was greeted by his family and friends that went on before him. They are all rejoicing in the presence of our Lord. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Lorena Cemetery with Jimmy Thompson officiating.
Harold was born December 9, 1945, in Wilmington, North Carolina to Glenn Carnes and Lela Hewett, the oldest of six siblings. He grew up in Wilmington and served in the Army from 1963 to 1970. He married the love of his life, Jennie Lou Duncan in 1970. Together they had six children. He was a caring, loving father, hard worker and great provider.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie, a son, Thomas Carnes, his mother and father, his mother-in-law and father-in-law and four siblings. He is survived by his children, Harold Carnes Jr. (Cyndi), Faith Ann Sorenson (Karl), Tim Carnes, Barbie Thompson (Jimmy) and Pete Perry; fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister, Shirley Neal (David) and her children and grandchildren, one brother-in-law, Lawrence Duncan (Gloria) and his children and grandchildren, and a niece, Melissa Rivenbark (Larry) and her children and grandchildren.
