Gladys Watson, 06/18/24 – 01/31/22, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Greg Moore officiating. Gladys will be available for viewing 30 minutes prior to the service at the cemetery.
Gladys was born to Charles Jefferson and Minnie Viola (Jackson) Nance in Belton, Texas. She married Odis M. Watson in 1943 in Waco, Texas. Gladys was a loyal, devoted, hardworking leader at Owens Illinois Glass Plant for 32 years. She loved her job and was so proud to be part of their team. She was known to have quite a photo collection of the plant-sponsored events over the years and had a memorabilia display for the 50th Anniversary celebration. Gladys belonged to the Eastern Star for 50 plus years. Her hobbies were bowling, fishing, and camping.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister; husband, Odis Watson; and brother, Aaron Nance.
Gladys is survived by her sons Mike Watson and wife Betty, Ron Watson and wife Ahna. Her grandchildren James Watson and wife Amber, Kellie Watson Woods and husband Brandon, Brad Watson; Ashley Thomas, Kim Watson Willis and husband Brian, and David Watson. Great-grandchildren Megan Watson, Blakely Woods and Brooks Woods; Ezra Watson, Ethan Watson, Benjamin Watson, Olivia Willis and Luke Willis.
