Gladys Krause-Smith

Gladys Marie Krause- Smith, 92, of Hewitt, passed away Thursday June 22, 2017. Funeral services will be held 1pm Monday June 26 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr. Waco, with Dr. Buddy Sipes officiating. A private family burial will follow. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service starting at 12pm.
Gladys was born February 22, 1925 to William and Elenora Rueter. She married Melvin L. Krause in 1942 and they spent 42 years together until his death in 1984. She worked for Cox’s, W.W. Callan Ranch, and finally retired from Waco ISD in 1990 after 25 years of service. She married Hal Smith in 1990 and spent her retirement years with him until his death in 2005. They spent their time singing with the Baylor Senior Choir.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Krause; second husband, Hal Smith; sisters, Lenora, Margaret, Betty, and Alice.
Gladys is survived by; daughters, Sandra Fisk and husband Harold of Bruceville, Marilyn Ridings of Colleyville; grandchildren, Bill and Lynne Copeland, Todd and Michelle Copeland, Rob and Joey Fisk, Jason and Holly Ridings, and Whitney and Brad Heimann; great-grandchildren, Allie Copeland, Garrett, Beau, and Chad Heimann, Kaden and Kenadee Fisk; and her sisters, Jo Hansen, Frieda and Weldon Henson
