Jerri was born August 13, 1931, in Whitney, TX, to Robert and Daisy (Owens) Gunter. She was a manager at Holiday Inn in Waco for many years. In 1987 she was awarded a four day, all-expense paid trip to San Fransico, California in the “Spirit Continues” nationwide contest from Holiday Inn. Her trip ended with a tour of Napa Valley wine country. Jerri was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. She followed College Sports teams that her family attended, loved the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR. She stayed sharp through the years working crossword puzzles. Most importantly she never missed a family event and was always in attendance with her upbeat energy and sense of humor. She was a longtime member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church. She enjoyed staying connected with her family and friends through social media, and faithfully acknowledged each one's birthday and special occasions. She led a full life and loved her family very much.
Jerri was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Evelyn Pitts; her two husbands, Claud E. Dawson, and Isaac “Buddy” Findley; son-in-law, Tom Wedemeyer; and grandchild, Owen Sanders.
