On Sunday, May 22, 2022, Gerry Storer, loving wife, mother of four children, sister and friend went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 92. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 11, at 10:00 AM at Hopewell Cemetery in Liberty Hill, TX. Sue Beard will be officiating.
Gerry was born on January 12, 1930 in Liberty Hill, TX to Walter Bronson and Eckie Emily (Mitchell) Starnes. She graduated from Ursuline Academy of Laredo in 1948. She attended Laredo Jr. College where she was a cheerleader and fell in love with Buddy, the star football player. Buddy and Gerry married on March 4, 1950. They were married for 70 years before his passing in 2020. They raised 4 children and had a long and blessed life together.
Gerry had many friends and was loved by all. She had a great sense of humor and a laugh that could fill a room. She was very active in the women’s group at Kendrick Baptist Church and the University High School PTA while raising her children. Gerry loved to garden, play cards and dominoes, travel with family and friends and go on casino trips with her husband and sister.
Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Buddy Storer, her brothers; Mitchell Starnes and Glen Starnes and grandson; Justin Storer. Gerry is survived by her sisters; Joyce Nance and Jackie Starnes, her sons; Terry Storer and wife Linda, Gary Storer, Kerry Lee Storer and wife Gina, and daughter; Kathy Storer, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
