George Landrum Wilkins, 95, passed away on July 27, 2021. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with burial immediately following at Rosemound Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 10 to 11 am prior to the service.
George was born on April 5, 1926 in Floydada, Texas to J.E. and Mamie Wilkins. He married Juanita Wooten in 1944. George served in the Army during World War II. He worked as an electrician at James Connally Air Force Base, Texas State Technical Institute, and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Waco.
George had a deep faith in Jesus and was a faithful member and of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Waco, where he served as a Deacon. He enjoyed watching Baylor Football and Texas Ranger Baseball. George enjoyed playing golf with friends and family. He loved his family and getting together for reunions and special gatherings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Anita Riggle and son-in-law George; sisters, Inez, Shorty, Mary, Jean, and Effie; and brother, R.G.
George is survived by his wife of 76 years, Juanita; daughter, Susan Bruff and husband Barry of Lucas, Texas; brother, J.E. Wilkins of Nolanville, Texas; Brother-in-law, Doil Wooten and wife Ann; Grandchildren, Deanna Adams of Dallas, Texas, Scott Mills and wife Betsy of Wylie, Texas, Anthony Mills and wife Janette of Rannier, Washington, Andrew and wife Allyson of Plano, Texas, Daniel Bruff of Lucas, Texas, Eric Riggle of Arlington, Texas, Stephanie Cobb of Arlington, Texas, Tricia Cox of Forney, Texas, Kelli Watts and husband Clint of Forney, Texas. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; many nieces and nephews; along with many other relatives and friends.
