George Edward Vinecourt, Jr., 68, of Chilton, Texas formally, of Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on November 23, 2015.
George was born on May 6, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio to George Edward Vinecourt, Sr. and Elsie Pauline Tews. He is a 1965 graduate of Brunswick High School. He was drafted into the US Army in 1966, serving 2 years in Korea. Upon returning, he and his father-in-law, Joseph M. Wallner, created and owned BOMARK, a maintenance company dedicated to the Brown Derby Restaurants in Ohio.
George and his family moved to Texas in 1978, where he started his own company, Vinecourt Contracting. He enjoyed carpentry, construction, mechanics and farming. He was also a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Lott, Texas.
George met and made numerous friends during his lifetime. If you knew him, you knew he had a very dry sense of humor and a very quick wit. He will be missed more than words can say.
George is survived by his wife of 48 years; Cheryl (Wallner), daughter; Elizabeth Vinecourt, son-in-law; Edward Johnson, granddaughters; Sierra and Whitney Johnson, sister; Linda Vinecourt, sister and brother-in-law; Darlene (Vinecourt) and Donald Moody, very close family friends; Mike and Kay McGee, Stephen Sweeney, and Carl and Donna Behnke. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and older brother; Bruce Vinecourt.
A memorial service will be held Monday, December 21st beginning at 7:00 pm at the First Evangelical Church, 6347 Interstate 35 S Frontage Road, Waco, TX. 76706, officiated by Rev. Richard Rust.
