Gene Dempsey, 81, of Waco, went to be with his Lord after a long fight with cancer, Sunday, November 1, 2015. Graveside funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Waco. The family will receive visitors 6 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.
Gene served his country in the Korean War on the USS Lofberg DD-759. He was preceded in death by a son, Gene, Jr. and a daughter Jenny Mae; four brothers, and one sister.
Gene is survived by his wife, sweetheart, and best friend of 51 ½ years, Patricia Dempsey; children Cheryl Brown and husband Clay, Nathan Dempsey and wife Viola, Ella Marie Cameron, and Nena Carter and husband Chris; nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
